INTEGRATIVE DRY NEEDLING
What is Integrative Dry Needling?
Dry needling is a therapeutic technique that allows the body to heal soft tissue pain and discomfort through the shallow insertion of needles within targeted areas. The needles are placed into trigger points within the tissue underneath your skin. The insertion of a thin stimuli causes an extremely tiny wound in the tissue, therefore causing controlled inflammation. The body responds to the lesion by activating physiological mechanisms that normalize local inflammation, remodel damage tissue, and decrease local tissue tension. The normalization of inflammation simulates an environment which triggers a healthy response from your nervous system. This practice enhances the body’s ability to heal naturally and properly which reduces pain and discomfort.
How is it Performed?
Integrative dry needling is performed by the insertion of filament needles through the skin and into the deeper surrounding tissues to treat the trigger points that may be the source of your pain. Once the needles are in the targeted areas, they will be manipulated in order to create a lesion within the surrounding soft tissue.
